About the Owners
Year Purchased: 1960
This property has been in my family for about 50 years. One of my close friends really wanted to open a bed and breakfast and she approached me about buying into my property and doing a guest house together. We have worked very hard to make this home something to be proud of and comfortable for people to enjoy and use.
We have had many comments in our journal and guests truly seem to appreciate our efforts. Natchitoches is a lovely place to visit and explore. Carrie and Pat
Why the Owner Chose Natchitoches:
Natchitoches has so much to offer to visitors and it's surprising how many people have moved here after one visit. There is also a very active artist community and there's certainly plenty of material to foster creativity. Northwestern State University has a wonderful music department and throughout the year has many concerts. The drama department also features plays on a pretty regular basis. Many people come here to research their genealogy either at the college library or the Old Courthouse where many records are kept.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This property is unique because it is so close to locations of interest within the city. The Natchitoches Events Center is about a block away. The Parish Courthouse is about two blocks away and the downtown area and restaurants are all within short walking distance.

“A great getaway"
Three of us from south Louisiana stayed here for a girls' weekend. We did not want to leave. This place is wonderful, so much so that I hesitate to share it with anyone for fear we won't be able to get in again. The owners thought of everything. We enjoyed the extremely comfortable beds, the fully equipped kitchen and in particular the front and back porches to just hang out. The location is within walking distance of the downtown commercial area as well as the historic neighborhood. Two television sets and wi-fi completed the accomodations, with the large TV set allowing us to share in the heartbreaking result of the LSU-Alabama game. We will be back.

​​“We loved this cottage!"
We stayed at The Cottage while visiting family in Natchitoches and absolutely loved it! It was so nicely decorated and very clean and comfortable. It was wonderful to have use of the whole house without anyone else staying there. Having a kitchen made it nice and the owners left us the best banana bread. We used the front porch in the evening to drink a glass of wine and people watch before heading downtown for dinner. I would highly recommend The Cottage!
